L0105 Public Information Basics

Description

To equip participants with the skills needed to be full or part-time PIOs, including oral and written communications; understanding and working with the media; and basic tools and techniques to perform effectively as a PIO, both in the proactive/ advocacy times and crisis/emergency response.

Prerequisites

Update 3/26/26 At this time, we are temporarily waiving the Independent Study course prerequisite requirements (IS-13 and IS-29) because the IS site is unavailable due to the government shutdown. Students can go ahead and enroll in the L0105 class, and once the IS site is operable, then they will need to complete the prerequisites.
