OK-IMAT DEPLOYMENT - PLANNED EVENT

The OK Incident Management Assistance Team (OK-IMAT) will be deployed to manage a planned event.

Description

This is a planned event where the OK Incident Management Assistance Team (OK-IMAT) will manage a conference, full-scale exercise, sporting event, or special event using the incident command system.  This is an opportunity for OK-IMAT Members and Candidates as well as others with open Position task Books (PTB) to gain valuable experience managing a large, multi-day, multiple venue event in a controlled environment.  All of the Command & General Staff positions plus some unit leader positions are open and need to be filled during this deployment.  

Prerequisites

Individuals wanting to participate in this event must meet one of the following prerequisites:

  • A Member of the OK Incident Managment Assistance Team, -OR-
  • A Candidate for the OK Incident Management Assistance Team (Candidate means you applied to be a member of the Team but have either not yet completed the training prerequisites or are awaiting to be approved by the OK IMT Oversight Committee), -OR-
  • Are neither a Member nor Candidate for the OK-IMAT but have completed a NIMS ICS Position Specific Course (e.g., Planning Section Chief, Liaison Officer, Resource Unit Leader, etc.) AND have an open Position Task Book (PTB) you are working to complete.

Student Equipment

Participants must arrive with a Position Go-Kit appropriate for the ICS position they will be performing during this event.

Participants working on a Position Task Book (PTB) must arrive with an initiated PTB.

Similar courses

This five-day course serves as a basic introduction to the activities and processes of a Type 3 All-Hazards Incident Management Team (AHIMT), enabling them to be better prepared to support large scale or complex operations in their communities. This course is open to anyone meeting the course prerequisites.
