Law Enforcement First Response (LEFR)
Description
The Law Enforcement First Responder (LEFR) Course is continuing education offered through the Oklahoma Department of Safety. This course was developed in collaboration with NAEMT’s Pre-Hospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS) Committee. It teaches public safety first responders (police, law enforcement officers, firefighters, and other first responders) the basic medical care interventions that will help save an injured responder's life until EMS practitioners can safely enter a tactical scene.

- Care Under Fire/Direct Threat
- Basic Tactical Field Care
- Self Aid/Buddy Aid
- Officer Extraction
Skills stations include:
- Bleeding control: Pressure bandages, extremity tourniquets, hemostatic agents, junctional tourniquets
- Chest Wounds: chest seals
- Basic Airway Management
- Hypothermia prevention: hypothermia kits
- Patient Extraction/transportation Techniques
