Cadaver-Procedure Lab
Description
Cadaver-Procedure lab: Is a hands-on lab utilizing human cadaver specimens for participants to practice life-saving skills and includes an anatomy review. Skills include but not limited too basic/advanced airway procedures, chest tubes and needle decompression, bleeding control techniques (TQ’s and wound packing), field amputation procedures, vascular access using IV/IO access.
This course is expensive although we have been able to collaborate with OU Department of Emergency Medicine, EMSA and OSU-FST to share the cost of the specimens and equipment.
Participants include physicians, nursing, first responder groups (law enforcement/fire and EMS).
